Domenic Carosa (MEI)
Executive Director & Group CEO destra Corporation

Domenic Carosa co-founded destra Corporation in 1993, when he was in his late teens. Since that time, Domenic has been responsible for transforming destra into a multi-million dollar company. He built the company from the ground up during the 1990’s and was the driving force behind destra’s listing on the ASX in 2000. At the time, Domenic was the youngest CEO of a public listed company in Australia. 

 

Domenic's other achievements include building Australia’s largest independent digital music website, MP3.com.au and launching Australia’s first legal commercial digital download service, destraMusic. In the early 90s, he co-founded the Sprint Group. He is currently Chairman of the Internet Industry Association, Chairman of the IIA Digital Music Taskforce, and has won numerous young achiever awards.

Richard Wingrove
CFO (Group Finance) & Company Secretary

Richard Wingrove joined the company in 2005 and brings a depth of finance leadership experience across a range of industries and organisations. Prior to joining destra, Richard held various management positions, the most recent being Finance Director at DePuy International based in the UK. He has also spent a total of five years in the SME telecommunications and technology sector. Richard has a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Business and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Shaun Mitchell
CIO

Having started his IT career in the UK, Shaun has over 17 Years IT experience in a variety of roles, most recently as the General Manager of an internet development company and then CIO of Victoria’s leading home builder - Metricon Homes. Shaun is a member of the CIO Executive Council and a member of Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Alex Hartman
Director of Corporate Development

Started his business at the age of 15 and in 2000 received the Young Australian of the Year Award for Career Achievement. Appointed by the Commonwealth Government as a Director of ‘Head Space’, a National Youth Mental Health Foundation initiative. Recently appointed as a Member of the IT&T Committee of the Commonwealth Government Industry R&D Dev board and Ambassador of the Sony Foundation (consultant).

Perry Smith
CEO destra Media

Perry has 20 years experience in the industry, and has developed a reputation for creating innovative and profitable media companies. Perry founded Brand New Media, now Australia’s leading integrated media and communications company with interests in media representation, production and branded content development, publishing, event management and marketing. 

 

Prior to Brand New Media, Perry held prominent positions in the media industry, commencing his career with Capital Television in Canberra, whilst playing professional Rugby League for the Canberra Raiders. He then moved to Network Ten in Sydney, followed by MSN (at that time the largest media representation business).  Perry also founded Australian Media & Sport (AM&S) a diversified media sales and sports marketing company.  He was made Director of Australian Media Holdings, then Managing Director of Sportsworld Media Group Asia Pacific.

Ken Outch
CEO destra Music

Ken Outch has worked in the Australian music industry for over 20 years. Prior to joining destra, Ken held senior executive positions within the entertainment sector, including General Manager for BMG, Director of Marketing Sony - Columbia and General Manager of Sanity. Whilst working at Sanity, Ken was involved in launching Australia’s first legal music download site, implementing P.O.S across 300 stores and establishing Music Point.

 

Ken has overseen the acquisition of five new companies under the destra Entertainment business. Ken is a current board member of the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) and holds a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration.

Phil Maddison
CEO destra Vision

Phil commenced his career in retailing, as a buyer for David Jones in South Australia. With his understanding of consumer trends and demand he moved into entertainment content distribution, at Electronic Arts, where he progressed from senior sales and marketing roles to the position of General Manager and Director.

Phil’s depth of experience and understanding in content sales and distribution took him to Magna Pacific in 2001. Phil has held the position of CEO since 2004. Phil holds a Masters of Business Administration and brings to destra over two decades of sales and marketing experience.
