Three senior destra appointments support focused market growth strategy

27 June 2005

“These new leadership roles provide broad, strategic input into all departments within the organisation. Chris, Anthony and Mark are veteran players in the IT&T industry and bring with them the wisdom and knowledge required to evaluate growth initiatives...” said Domenic Carosa, destra CEO.

destra Corporation Limited (ASX:DES) (destra) has announced a number of senior appointments which, the company states, are critical to its focus on rapid growth of the company and increased recognition for its advanced communications access, hosting and voice offerings.

The last two months have seen three senior appointments to destra, marking a new, aggressive phase for the organisation as it continues to position itself as a one stop business communications service provider. Chris Collinge has taken on the new role of Chief Operating Officer, Anthony Banek is appointed to the new role of Director of Strategy and Corporate Development and Mark Randall oversees all sales for destra Business sales teams being appointed Sales and Marketing Director.

“These new leadership roles provide broad, strategic input into all departments within the organisation. Chris, Anthony and Mark are veteran players in the IT&T industry and bring with them the wisdom and knowledge required to evaluate growth initiatives as well as ensure strong processes are in place to meet the high level of activity we are currently experiencing,” said Domenic Carosa, destra CEO.

Collinge has been charged with ensuring the company’s strategic vision is followed through by all divisions. He ran a number of successful IT businesses in the UK before migrating to Australia in 1997 when he founded and was the Managing Director of Techex Communications, a multi award winning service provider acquired by destra in October 2004 and ranked number11 fastest growing company in Australia in the 2004 BRW Fast100.

“Chris’ appointment marks an important step for destra. The operations and delivery function sits at the centre of the company and must be broad thinking, innovative and firmly rooted in the issues that really matter to those who use our services,” said Carosa.

Banek will lead opportunity evaluation, including strategic and financial analysis and the creation of business plans for high potential opportunities. Identifying market openings is key to achieving destra’s goals maintains Carosa. Prior to joining destra, Banek developed one of Australia's first internet based classified portals in 1996 and founded Webtrader in 1997 - one of the first Microsoft Windows based web hosting companies in the Asia Pacific region with over 5,000 clients.

Randall is recognised for his strong sales leadership and business development know-how. Prior to coming to Australia to join Techex Communications, he had senior sales and general management roles with a number of UK networking and telecommunications service providers.

Additionally, Randall has solid experience and success in channel development and sales. destra is looking to its channel partners to play an increasing role in its market growth. The company is currently reviewing its channel strategy and will be launching its new destra Business partner program in the third quarter of 2005.
