destra signs exclusive three year digital distribution deal with ABC’s triple j youth network
Melbourne, 12th April 2006 – MP3 Music Network, a wholly-owned division of destra Corporation Limited (ASX: DES), has signed an exclusive three year digital distribution deal with the ABC’s triple j youth network.
“We are excited that our partnership with destra will enable our listeners to interact with triple j and Australian music through entirely new media platforms, said Linda Bracken, Manager, triple j.
“Triple j and destra are developing a new range of digital services that we believe will change the Australian music industry. Our combined objective has been a passionate commitment to developing and promoting local Australian music artists. We have worked closely with destra over the past twelve months to develop an innovative digital music experience across the triple j youth network. We believe the triple j brand represents the best of Australian new music.”
Domenic Carosa, CEO destra said, “To date, much of the discussion surrounding digital media and music has been relegated to the technology sphere. We are experiencing a maturation of the Australian digital music industry with content becoming the focus and priority. Australian audiences want the ability to discover and access new artists in their own time via their preferred platform.
“Content and brand partnerships provide key differentiators for local digital service providers. The triple j contract is a huge win for destra and positions us as an Australian market leader in the provision of compelling digital music services.”
Triple j will launch the destra-enabled on-line, digital service in July.
